Stagecoach gift £25,000 to Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance as part of ‘Giving for Good’ fund

Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) has received a donation of £25,000 from Stagecoach, the UK’s largest bus and coach operator.

Stagecoach pledged to donate 0.5% of profits each year to charitable causes across the UK as part of its ‘Giving for Good’ community fund.

Charlotte Somerville, Head of Corporate Communications and Deputy Chair of Stagecoach Charity Committee said: “It was a pleasure to visit the team at SCAA this week and learn more about the important work they do to provide lifesaving care to the people of Scotland.

“Our Giving for Good community fund was set up to help charities like SCAA and give back to our local communities, and we are delighted that this donation will help support that and the team of brilliant people who keep the service running every day of the year.”

The partnership between SCAA and Stagecoach has been significant, as the company played a vital role in SCAA’s inception.

“Stagecoach has been a valued partner of SCAA since we first launched,” said SCAA Depute Chief Executive Doug Cross, “and this latest significant donation further demonstrates their commitment to our service.

“The whole SCAA team is grateful to everyone involved with Stagecoach’s ‘Giving For Good’ initiative and can reassure them that this funding will save lives.”

Mr Cross reflected: “The Stagecoach logo has had a prominent position on the tail of our two helicopters since day one in recognition of the support provided by the company to SCAA and the delivery of our life-saving service.”
