As a charity, Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance is delighted to be supported by over 300 amazing volunteers who take on a wide variety of roles for us.
Some volunteers host talks to groups and organisations to spread awareness of our vital work across Scotland. Other volunteers help at events all over the country, talking to visitors and encouraging support. Seen one of mascots? There’s a good chance one of our volunteers was inside there making that magic happen!
In our charity offices, you’ll regularly see volunteers helping with paperwork, data inputting and sending out orders for SCAA goodies. For those that prefer to volunteer from home, they can moderate one of our Facebook groups to answer questions and offer support.
We really do have a huge range of volunteers opportunities available, but joining our flight crews unfortunately isn’t one of them. Our highly-trained paramedics are seconded directly from the Scottish Ambulance Service, ensuring they have the requisite skills and experience necessary to provide life-saving care. Our expert pilots are contracted through our aviation partner Babcock, who also provide our air ambulance helicopters themselves. This again ensures that we have the right people trained and equipped to deliver vital care when people need help the most.
If you have some time to spare, we would be delighted to welcome you as a SCAA volunteer. Whether it’s just as a one-off or maybe a regular role, your support really does help us save lives.
