New fundraiser blossoms in Orkney as Sheila Fleet Jewellery backs Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance lifesavers

Internationally renowned Orkney jewellers Sheila Fleet are donating a percentage of their fundraising Daisy collections to support Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

The two-year fundraising drive comes in recognition of the numerous times SCAA responds to emergencies and hospital transfer needs on the islands.

The Daisies at Dawn range, now in its 13th year, has already raised £169,000 for various charities and good causes. The idea of creating a charitable collection first sparked in 2014 when Sheila wanted to support one of her former employees who was sadly diagnosed with neuroblastoma aged 16. Now, the popular range is set to raise thousands to help keep SCAA’s life-saving flights in the air.

Managing Director Martin Fleet explained that, in addition to the popular Daisy collections, Sheila Fleet Jewellery would be crafting a selection of their Daisy at Dawn designs in a new enamel colour, evoking SCAA’s distinctive helicopter colours of yellow, blue and green, set to become collectors’ items in the months ahead. This limited-edition collection will be available in-store and online until March 2028.

A range of pendants, earrings and a popular stretch bracelet will be among some of the core pieces selected for the unique colourway.

“Over the years, SCAA has proved a lifeline for island communities such as Orkney and the charity’s helicopter is a regular and welcome sight flying in and out of Kirkwall,” explained Martin.

“One of our workshop staff needed SCAA’s urgent help earlier this year and they were there to ensure he received treatment at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary as quickly and comfortably as possible,” added Martin. “Many residents and visitors to Orkney have received life-saving and life-improving attention from SCAA’s crew and valued the fact that vital mainland hospital care is just a flight away.

“We feel it’s time to give something back and SCAA was a unanimous choice when we were preparing to embark on a new two-year fundraising support charity partnership this spring.”

SCAA’s Partnerships Manager, Cathy Anderson, said the charity was “extremely grateful” that Sheila Fleet Jewellery had chosen the country’s only charity-funded air ambulance service to be the beneficiary of their beautiful Daisy collections for the next two years.

“We are thrilled with the new enamel colourway that Sheila has made exclusively for our partnership, incorporating the colours of our helicopters into some of her gorgeous Daisy at Dawn designs,” she said.

“Our missions regularly take us to the islands of Scotland, so it is wonderful to be supported by such an iconic Scottish company based in Orkney.

“Buyers and collectors of this amazing fund-raising collection will be helping to save lives in every corner of the country, sustaining SCAA’s mission to ensure that no one dies because help can’t get there in time.”

Daisies at Dawn have been raising funds for SCAA since April this year and will continue until the end of March 2028.

The limited edition ‘SCAA’ Daisy designs will be available in any Sheila Fleet shops in Orkney, Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews or online at sheilafleet.com
