Hundreds of runners took to Perth Airport to take on Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance’s first Run the Runway event this month.
This unique charity fundraiser raised over £32,000 for our life-saving service.
For the first time ever, people were able to race around the runways at the general aviation complex in an exclusive opportunity for SCAA supporters.
Participants had the opportunity to run either 2.5km, 5km, or 10km around the Perth Airport runway.
The event was organised in support of Operation Skyward, the charity’s bid to raise an additional £2 million this year to support the provision of a new state-of-the-art H145 D3 replacement helicopter for its Aberdeen base.

Runners of all ages donned their SCAA branded t-shirts to complete the route.
SCAA events officer Caryn Whitelaw said: “We’re extremely grateful to Perth Airport operators ACS Aviation for facilitating this inaugural event and hopefully it will grow to become an annual race.”
