SCAA's new legacy logbook to fly with crew on every mission

Leaving a gift in your Will is one of the most powerful and transformative ways you can support Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) to keep on saving lives.

The charity has developed a new special logbook for our legacy pledgers (those who have left a gift to SCAA in their Will).

Supporting the charity in this way helps maintain our vital service for future generations in Scotland. It means the Scottish public can continue to rely on our frontline service, wherever they live, work, or wander.

SCAA’s dedicated Legacy Officer, Kathryn Cooper, said: “By choosing to leave a gift in your Will, you’ll be up in the skies with our crew, helping to protect your community.

“It’s an incredible gesture and special way to make a difference after you’re gone.

“It can help protect the community you love, whether that’s an island community, farming, equestrian, rural or hillwalking. We are committed to being available to people wherever they are, when they need it most.

“We hope it provides some comfort to know that by leaving a gift in your Will, you will be helping to protect and preserve your community and family’s way of life. By protecting the future of our service, you will help ensure we always get there in time to help any and all communities throughout Scotland.”

On each of our SCAA helicopters, our crew will now fly with a special legacy logbook. This will feature personalised messages from our pledgers and fly with our crew on every mission they attend.

Whether sharing words of encouragement, or the motivation behind their decision to pledge, each message becomes part of the SCAA journey - carried into Scotland’s skies and serving as a powerful reminder of the lives they are helping to protect.

SCAA pilot Cammy Nicol said: “It really means a lot to us to know people have chosen to include SCAA in their Will.

“We are privileged to carry the legacy logbooks. These heartfelt messages will travel in our life-saving aircraft and accompany us on every mission as we continue our vital work.”

Existing legacy pledgers are encouraged to get in touch so your messages can also be added to the logbook. A pledge card can be sent to you directly to write your message, or legacy pledgers are welcome to visit either our Perth or Aberdeen base to compile a message in person.

“If you have pledged to leave a gift in your Will to SCAA, we would love to have the opportunity to thank and acknowledge your incredible contribution and to know why you made this decision,” said Kathryn.

“We understand that this is a sensitive topic of discussion and anything you decide to share with us will be in complete confidence.”
