Thousands of supporter names added to the belly of our helicopter

Over 4,500 names were recently added to the belly of our new H145 helicopter at our Aberdeen base.

The Make Your Mark campaign was launched last August by Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) as part of the charity’s Operation Skyward appeal. This project aimed to raise an additional £2 million to fund a new, larger state-of-the-art H145 helicopter air ambulance for our Aberdeen base.

The installation was conducted recently with the design forming a unique map of Scotland, created entirely from thousands of supporter names.

Each name represents someone who cares – someone who makes life-saving missions possible.

Excluding gift aid, the Make Your Mark campaign raised an incredible £255,669 for our life-saving, frontline service and was a key contributing factor in helping to launch our new aircraft.

Thank you to everyone who supported this campaign. Your support – whether in the form of your name or that of a loved one – is now printed on our Aberdeen helicopter and will fly on every single life-saving mission with our crew. So, every time this air ambulance takes to the sky, your support is right there with us.

Each name will remain on our air ambulance for a minimum of 12 months from April 2026.

If you were involved in this campaign, you can now search for your name and see where it appears on the decal.
