WATCH: Three patients who were airlifted by SCAA share their story

You can’t know the impact your donation will have when you make it. We won’t know who this will help, but only that it will contribute to improving someone’s chances when they are critically ill or injured no matter where they are in Scotland.

Thanks to the continuous support of the Scottish public, our service has saved and improved the lives of people all over the country.

We rely on former patients getting in touch with us to share their story and experience of the service. Thankfully, we have heard from many people whose lives have been changed thanks to help getting to them in time.

We recently caught up with three of these patients who benefitted from Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) because of the donations made by the public to fuel missions. You can watch their incredible stories below…

MARTIN’S STORY

Martin needed urgent help after he awoke with searing pains in his chest while staying in an off-grid caravan alone in the Tay Forest Park.

JAMIE’S STORY

A moment’s distraction led to a painful accident for ghillie Jamie when his quad bike rolled on a steep bank and threw him crashing into nearby rocks.

Dazed and seriously injured, the estate worker attempted to drive on but collapsed, unable to continue his ride across the remote Angus glens landscape.

ROY’S STORY

A summer excursion on his motorbike turned to terror as Roy’s front wheel caught in a pothole while navigating a bend and sent him spiralling into an oncoming car.

Roy’s body smashed into the headlight, front bumper, wheel and mudguard of the vehicle, throwing him back across the road broken and semi-conscious.
