Action-packed day is all for a good cause at Crieff Hydro

A leading Scottish hotel group has announced that it will host a charity open day, with all takings going to its new charity partner, Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA).

Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels has pledged to donate the funds from visitors attending Action Glen, located at Crieff Hydro Hotel in Perthshire, on Wednesday 2nd August, while a further five per cent of all takings from the hotel on the day will also go towards supporting SCAA’s  life-saving service.

Action Glen has become a firm favourite with guests and visitors alike at Crieff Hydro, and those looking for an action-packed day of adventure will be able to indulge in a wide range of activities, all while contributing to the worthwhile cause.  

The attraction offers an array of exhilarating activities amid the picturesque surroundings of the hotel’s grounds and thrill seekers of all ages will be able to enjoy an array of activities including a tree top adventure, zip lines, segways, quad bikes, alpaca trekking and much more.

SCAA CEO, David Craig, said the day at Action Glen looked set to be a success with lots of exhilarating fun for those attending as well as some welcome support for the charity.

And he praised the ongoing commitment of Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels to support the life-saving service.

“SCAA relies entirely on donations from organisations and individuals to sustain what has become a vital life-saving service for everyone in Scotland,” said Mr Craig.

“The hotel group welcomes thousands of visitors to Scotland every year and SCAA is there to react to any emergency when visitors or residents – on both the mainland and Scotland’s many islands – need our help.

“SCAA attends serious illness and injury where our vital rapid response service is required and we can’t thank Stephen and his entire staff enough for recognising the value of what we do.

“We hope everyone has a fun and safe day on August 2.”

SCAA has a crew based at Perth airport, close to the hotel’s flagship property, Crieff Hydro, and the charity recently marked its 10th anniversary. Since May 22, 2013, SCAA has doubled its operation, launching an Aberdeen base in 2020, responded to more than 5,000 call outs, raised over £50 million and flown nearly half a million miles, saving thousands of lives and impacting on thousands more, particularly in remote and rural areas.

Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels comprises eight hotels located in Perthshire, Dundee, the Scottish Borders and the Highlands.
