Message baubles adorn SCAA Christmas trees

An invitation for people to share their lockdown Christmas with SCAA has resulted in hundreds of messages of thanks and goodwill from supporters all over Scotland.

SCAA's winter newsletter contained two cut-out Christmas Tree "baubles" - one for supporters to hang on their own family tree and a second to return to SCAA with a personal message to hang on the charity's trees in their bases.

Nick Harvey, SCAA's Director of Fundraising and Communications, said the life-saving charity had been "overwhelmed" by the flood of Christmas greetings and personal messages of thanks.

The baubles, either returned with messages written on them on their own or sent with orders for merchandise or accompanying donations, were absolutely wonderful to receive" he said.

"It has been very humbling for our crews and charity staff to read all the greetings and hear from some they have helped, others who recognise our vital role and many who want to support our life-saving work.

Over the years, SCAA has touched the lives of people in communities across the entirety of Scotland," added Mr Harvey, "and it's lovely that so many have reached out to us this Christmas in friendship, gratitude and generosity”.

"Our Christmas trees at both the Perth and Aberdeen bases look wonderful adorned with festive baubles from those who care about SCAA and we thank them for sharing Christmas with us, especially during these extremely challenging times."

Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance is 100% funded by donations and operates 365 days a year providing emergency pre-hospital care to all communities across Scotland. We hope that you’ll never need us, but its good to know that we’ll be there if you do.
