Mission Review

SCAA was part of a major emergency services response to a recent road traffic collision near Laurencekirk. Two people were injured in the two-vehicle collision with both being taken from the scene by road to hospitals in Aberdeen and Dundee. SCAA paramedics worked alongside colleagues from the Scottish Ambulance Service and the Emergency Medical Retrieval Service to treat the patients on scene.

SCAA’s Helimed 79 from Aberdeen was one of two air ambulance resources deployed to the scene of a three-vehicle collision on the A9 near Blair Atholl recently. SCAA airlifted a specialist doctor-led team to the scene where they helped treat the injured before two patients were taken by air and road ambulance to hospital.

SCAA was able to deliver a specialist trauma care team within minutes to the scene of a recent serious road accident near Huntly. The two-car collision involved several casualties, and medics travelled onwards with one patient in a land ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

SCAA was one of several emergency services called to a garden in Argyll recently when a man was injured in a fall from a roof. Paramedics worked alongside colleagues from the Scottish Ambulance Service and HM Coastguard before airlifting the injured man to the Major Trauma Centre at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

SCAA landed in the grounds of Brechin City Football Club recently to attend a medical emergency in the town. Paramedics worked alongside a Scottish Ambulance Service land crew before the patient was taken by to hospital.

SCAA was recently called in when a patient required an urgent transfer from Raigmore Hospital in Inverness to the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh for specialist care. SCAA’s rapid flight saved the patient hours of travel by road ambulance.
